GREGORY GUILLAUME, Ardèche

Gregory was born in Champagne but didn't come from a winemaking family.  He originally came to the Ardèche for its renowned caves and made a living as a spelunking guide.  He loved the sense of community in the Ardèche and chose to put his roots down and join the winemaking community.  Gregory now lives in Alba-La-Romaine and is one of the youngest winemakers in the Ardèche. Gregory belongs to the new generation of natural producers of Ardèche inspired by the famous wineries of Valvigniere (Le Mazel, Calek…). He started in 2011 with 1.5 ha of vines and now runs 3 ha of Grenache, Merlot, Syrah, Alicante, Chardonnay, and Grenache Blanc, all certified organic (ecocert).

When we asked Gregory why he decided to make natural wines, he simply responded because it’s the only wine he likes to drink. His wines are fresh and light and are gorgeous expressions of fruit and terroir.
